P. I have dust on my LCD screen how can i remove it
S. The best solution for this is to get compressed air. A lint free cloth works too but not as well as compressed air would be.
P. I just dropped my psp into water! What do i do?
S. It depends on how long it stood in the water. If it fell and you took it out immediately then you have a great chance of saving your psp. Just don't plug in anything and don't turn it on! You can open it up and blow dry the insides (not directly on the psp) or if you don't feel safe opening your psp then you can let it dry for about a good day and then when you think its been long enough, turn it on. Now, on the other hand, if it fell, and you didn't take it out until about 20 seconds then you're probably screwed I would suggest not touching that bad boy for a week in a half.
P. One of my buttons aren't working. I have to press it really hard for it to work.
S. Now for this you have to open your psp. You just have dust around that part. It works everytime and requires no effort. You just have to move it around. It will work.
P. I have just flashed a background but now there are white boxes on all my homebrew icons.
S. Well this is because the background you flashed is a bit too big in size. You gotta make it a bit smaller. Don't think it is because the application you are using isn't good. This is the same for all Applications that flash backgrounds.
P. I tried upgrading my 1.5 but it isn't working. It keeps saying Data corrupt. Cannot start update.
S. For this, all you have to do is upgrade to 2.0 first and then go about what ever other firmware you want to upgrade too.
P. My analog nub is messed up. It wont go back to the middle and its hard to move.
S. This usually happens if you had a larger analog on the psp, for instance the ps2 one. Now all you have to do is move the analog stick around with force. Believe it or not, it works. Worked for me and my friend.
P: I used Harleyg's custom firmware with devhook and booted in to 2.71. Now when I turn my psp off it only loads 2.71. Is it bricked and can I load it back in to 1.50?
S: Turn off your psp and make sure the WiFi swich is in the UP position and hold the L Shoulder button while rebooting your psp.
P. I have a stripped screw! How do i remove it?
S. Now for some reason this actually works! Take a skinny flathead and keep on twisting it to the left. No matter how much it seems like it isn't working keep trying. This worked for me before. Also try experimenting with different small sized flatheads.
P. I can't get on some websites on my psp. It keeps saying bad request.
S. Well, this usually happens with myspace. All you have to do is restore default settings.
P. My umd is messed up. The outer plastic that has UMD universal media disc on it keeps bending in on the top.
S. Now I highly suggest this because the umd can get worse and worse and may even mess up the umd drive if a piece breaks off. All you need to do is take the demo umd that comes with the psp and take a knife and put it to the side. You will see a little opening. Gently pry it open and move along it to the top. Do the same for the messed up umd if it isn't like that already. Then just take the disc out of each one and put the demo disc in the messed up umd case and the other disc in the good umd case.
P. My analog stick keeps moving down on its own.
S. Tighten the screw on the back of the psp behind the analog stick. This usually happens if you opened your psp.
Q. Is IC9001 a TA-082?
A. No, a IC9001 is not a TA-082 so you will be safe to downgrade.
T. Everytime I turn on my psp after completely turning it off it always boots my UMD and it gets really annoying taking it out everytime. Is there an easier way I can stop the UMD from booting?
A. There is one way to bypass the automatic boot. You have to go into your Privacy settings and set the parental control to level 1 and set the Password to something easy to remember like 0000 and whenever your psp boots up it will ask for a password rather then boot the game, and all you have to do is press circle.
T. I want to make my psp songs to look like an iPod.
A. All you have to do is make a folder with the name of either the artist of the Album name (whichever one you want). Then put the song by that artist or the songs according to that album. Then do the same for the other albums or artist.
T. How can I get a Album art on my music instead of seeing the number of the song?
A. You can also use iTunes to inbed it. This also works for the main pic that shows when you put sonds in a seperate group/folder. You can also have a picture show in the group/folder cube. You just place a picture in the root of the folder and it will show in the cube.
T. I have alot of scratches on my psp. How can i remove them?
A. There are two way of doing this, but since one voids the warranty, I won't go into detail on it. All you do is take the rag and put a few drops of polish on it. Then rub it in a circular motion in the clear area of the faceplate. Do this untill about half of the scratches aren't noticeable, then rub the other direction.
Once all the scratches aren't visible, wipe the polish off the PSP using the clean cloth. Be sure to wipe up, away from the buttons, or you'll have dust problems with the dried polish getting inside the PSP. Once it's all cleaned up, allow the residue to dry and clean it up with an alcohol wipe.
T. For some reason the left side of my umd door sticks out a bit.
A. Now this is normal so dont go freaking out. You will need to open up your PSP which voids your WARRANTY.
So be advised, I will not be holding responsiblity for your actions and this problem is a normality with PSP's around the world.
There is a screw you can take out that will enable the umd slot to close almost perfectly. Here is the pic(uploaded but mayb i'm not allowed so i'll apologize first otherwise) of the inside of the psp and the screw is marked .
When you take the screw out you will notice it closes better !
This mod did not affect my psp in any way , meaning it works perfectly.
WARNING: If you don't know what you are doing, don't do this mod and by opening your psp you void your warranty.
